The cycle — for reference

1
Stigma Pressure

Judgment — real or anticipated — activates a protective response.

2
Concealment

You hide how you feel to avoid being judged further. Short-term protection, long-term cost.

3
Loneliness

Concealment creates distance. Distance creates loneliness. The gap widens.

4
Withdrawal

Loneliness makes social contact feel riskier. You pull back further.

5
Internalized Stigma

The external judgment has moved inside. It now sounds like your own voice.
